Albert shared with me on the post he made on FotoKrazy few days ago about he found a software, Flash Memory Toolkit that can use to test Memory Cards / Card Readers / PC combination read / write profile. I was about to run the test on the cards I have and also card readers that I have. At the same time, couple of folks at dpreview also asking if someone can perform some tests within the Sandisk’s Class 6 Extreme III vs Transcend Class 6 on DMC-LX3 for shots to shots time.

So, here am I.. trying to do some basic testings with what I had. Due to the limited resources I had, I have also ran them at the best I could and the results are no way to be qualify as accurate and should only be taken as some non control tests references if you decides to take a look.

The Launching of Panasonic DMC-LX3K 10.1MP Digital Camera with 2.5x Wide Angle MEGA Optical Image Stabilized Zoom (Black) has creates a surge of Panasonic Camera Purchase for those dSLR user that would like to get a light weight, almost full features camera when they do not wish to carry the bulky dSLR. With the increase of Camera sales, the shopping for its accessories will also increase especially the extra batteries CGA-S005A/1B that is used for all LX1, LX2 and now, LX3.

I have previously ordered Panasonic CGA-S005A/1B Rechargeable Lithium-Ion Battery for Panasonic FX8, FX9, FX01, FX07, FX3, LX1, LX2 and FX50 Digital Cameras from Amazon for the price of $41.77. I have however, returned it since I never receive the camera prior to our Orlando Trip. This morning, as I am reading the RSS feeds I have to the dpreview, I noted this post that shares the Secret on getting Original Cheap LX3′s batteries and hence here is a shares for those that never got that tip.

Circuit City is selling this Panasonic’s DMW-FXACKIT for the Obsoleted FX series at $8.88 where they are sold still at the range of $40 ~ $70 in most website including

Now, for the interesting part, this DMW-FXACKIT Accessories kit contains a Leather Camera Casing for FX7 and others + a CGA-S005A/1B battery which turns out to be the same battery used for DMC-LX3. If you refers to Panasonic’s website for CGA-S005A/1B, this battery is used for DMC-LX2/1, DMC-FX100/50/12/10/9/8/07/3/01. It does not list down LX3, but if you visits LX3′s product page at its Accessories tab, it does shows the spare battery is exactly listed asCGA-S005A/1B.

So, for those that wish to get the extra Original CGA-S005A/1B, it is now a good time to shop for it before the stock with Circuit City depleted or they realized to returns to normal price and you have to buy the battery at the range of $40 ~ $70.
